ELLA is back!

28 10 2009

There are new units in ELLA (English Language Lab Asturias) for you to do online. The units cover the three levels taught at schools of languages.

Have a go! Try them and enjoy English. There are lots of activities and lots more are coming. I’m sure you’ll find them useful.

Using “advanced” structures

26 10 2009

We are advanced students of English, aren’t we?  Then, let’s show it!

It is by using a wide variety of structures and vocabulary that we show our command of a language, and the best way to show that we have an advanced level of English is by using advanced structures.

If you want to do some revision on Passive Voice, have a look at what we have done in our lesson today.

New links

19 10 2009

I’ve just added to new links to the blogroll. One of them belongs to a teacher at out school (Ana Arrondo) and the other one contains internet resources, reviews, news and trivia both for learnesrs and students of English. It is called The English Blog.

I hope you find them useful. :)

Swine Flu

8 10 2009

So many recommendations! Swine Flu seems to be the main conversation topic these days. Everywhere you go, there are people who know of someone who has had it or who is afraid of having it. Thanks to Linda, who told me about this video, we could see that swine flu is a global worry.

If you want to watch the video again and check for vocabulary and pronunciation, here you are.

Back to school again!

1 10 2009

Yes, we’re back to school again.

Welcome to this new course which, hopefully, would be your last one.

Today we start another new experience. We are meeting new people and we are anxious about it. At least, I am!

I hope you join this blog and you enjoy the blogging experience. I would like it to be another meeting point outside the classroom, one in which we will share lots of things. If you are new, I would like you to take a “virtual walk” and “dive” into it and see if you find anything that suits your needs as a student of English.

Some of the articles in the blog are by the students I taught last year. I hope you also contribute to the blog not only writing articles, but also suggesting links you think could be useful for all of us as they did last year. Without your contributions, nothing would be the same.

See you!  ;)
